Events and Petal Parties

We won’t forget it – our first Petal Party at Sonshine Acres fall 2024. When we found this land back in 2017, we remember opening the doors to the corn crib and seeing past all the junk and garbage – we could literally see what it is today, even then. We knew beauty was just waiting to be uncovered and cultivated in that beautiful, old heirloom building. We knew sharing what the Lord has given us here would be a big part of the story God would write at Sonshine Acres, we just didn’t know back then how He would make a way for us to do that. We are at a place now where we can truly take in these moments of community and count it ALL as His faithfulness in our lives. We can see the path forward, but we also can turn around and appreciate the path behind us –  It all took work, discipline, planning, learning, failing, and so much praying! The best part is how these little events provide opportunities for our family to serve others – together. We all set up and we all clean up – and we all celebrate the blessings in each detail – together. We are grateful for it all! We delight in creating an atmosphere, setting the table, hearing the laughter, the seeing others enjoy what we’ve cultivated and grown here, and watching the freedom to create in our gardens come to life. I’m just so grateful. We welcome you with full hearts, knowing this path God has us on is exactly where we’re supposed to be. Praise God from whom ALL blessings flow. Come play on the gardens with us.

Petal Parties

We host events for small groups (mom groups, Bible study groups, ministry groups, work events) called Sonshine Acres Petal Parties. A Soneshine Acres Petal Party is a two hour event where your group gets an opportunity to slow down and enjoy company and fellowship in a beautiful, carefully cultivated outdoor environment. At a Sonshine Acres Petal Party, you will spend one hour in our historic, timeless corn crib enjoying delicious snacks and refreshing beverages under the warm glow of the strings of Edison lights that adorn the rafters, and one hour in our prominent, gorgeous  flower gardens, where you will have the opportunity to slowly meander among the colorful, fragrant blooms harvesting and arranging yourself the bouquet you’ve always wanted. You will be offered some advice and guidance on harvesting flowers and arranging, but we are more about creativity here than we are about adhering to formulas that make every bouquet look like a carbon copy of the next one. You will be free to express the individuality that God knit into you for His glory. After our evening together, you will leave here full – full of food, flowers, fellowship, and fun!

We are at a place now, in 2025, where we can truly take in these moments and count it ALL as His faithfulness in our lives. Every bit of this fills our cups to OVERFLOWING – the hospitality, the serving, providing the treats, serving our guests using beautiful china, creating  the atmosphere, setting the table, hearing the laughter, the seeing others enjoy what we’ve cultivated and grown. It is like God allows us to give the gift of His beauty to others and that is deeply fulfilling for us. We’re grateful.
